Parlour Bells, The Daylilies at The Burren, 1/27
January 27 @ 7:00 pm
Sun Jan 27 – Parlour Bells, The Daylilies
Openers for Culture Club at Blue Hills Bank Pavilion in Boston. Boston Music Awards Nominee LIVE ARTIST OF THE YEAR! One of Boston’s Ten Top Local Acts, The Improper Bostonian. CBS calls Parlour Bells one of Boston’s BEST. Parlour Bells’ new album Waylaid in the Melée has been described as “a hard look at a country where the popular culture is toxic and the politics are predatory, and yet somehow never loses its sense of humor or sense of humanity.”
The Daylilies are a new band composed of living relics of Boston rock and roll history, including Ad Frank (…and the Fast Easy Women, Lifestyle), Matt Klain (Mistle Thrush), Mike Quinn (Reverse, Dragstrip Courage), Adam Goodwin (Joe Turner and Seven Levels, PermaFrost) and Maine native Laura England Klain (The Feather Lungs, The Sweet Terror). Drawing on this extensive and highly impressive experience, their sound can most easily be described as “pop,” though electronic rock, post-grunge and new wave are also frequently accurate. Cell tower triangulation finds their sound somewhere between Garbage, The Cars and Low.
The Daylilies will release their debut, eponymous EP in January 2019. Collectively, they have three 13-year old daughters.
